AkzoNobel, a global leader in paints and coatings, initiated a Start-up Challenge with a goal of attracting at least 50 submissions from the chemical industry. The challenge was to find and engage the core target audiences in a worldwide and highly niche market.
Socialdatabase employed its enriched X database to identify 21 unique communities within the chemical industry. The audience was specifically built to include not just those with an interest and affinity for chemistry, but also startups, founders, investors, and other communities worldwide connected to chemistry and sustainability. Short videos were then utilized in a tailored campaign to reach these audiences.
The targeting of relevant custom audiences resulted in a highly successful campaign. With 20,000 engagements, over 2,000 newsletter subscriptions, and 200 ambitious global startups submitting for the challenge, the campaign significantly surpassed the initial goal set by AkzoNobel.
