YouTube was looking for new ways to engage NFL fans, so we developed the NFL Game Recommender—a highly personalised, innovative API designed to expand reach, increase engagement, and elevate the fan experience.

Approach

The NFL Game Recommender API was designed to create dynamic, real-time interactions personalised to each fan's unique preferences. By analysing fan behaviour on X, we aimed to recommend the top four games featuring each user’s favourite teams.

Result

This is how the API works: when an NFL fan opts in by liking a YouTubeTV post, the Socialdatabase API automatically selects the top four games tailored to that fan, based on the teams and players they engage with on X. Within seconds, the fan receives a personalised YouTubeTV notification with their multi view setup for Sunday’s games.
